Welcome to the Electrical Certificate Training Program (ECTP)

The Alberta Sign Association’s Electrical Certificate Training Program (ECTP) is designed to give sign professionals the essential knowledge and certification to safely install and service electrical signage across Alberta.

Recognized and authorized by Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT), the ECTP is the only approved pathway to obtain the Electrical Certificate for Sign Installation. This comprehensive program blends convenient online learning with practical, hands-on instruction—ensuring participants not only understand electrical theory but can apply it confidently in the field.

Whether you’re starting your career or upgrading your credentials, the ECTP builds the expertise, compliance, and confidence you need to meet Alberta’s safety and industry standards.

Course Timeline:
Participants have 60 days to complete the online portion of the program. Once finished, you’ll move on to the in-person practical training and final exam.

Next in class dates

Saturday, April 18th – 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Sunday, April 19th – 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM

April Classes will be held in Edmonton, AB.

Program Cancellations

The Alberta Sign Association reserves the right to cancel or modify any class due to unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to:

Low enrollment, unavailable facilities, equipment, or trainers.
Notice will be provided at least five (5) days prior to the scheduled class whenever possible.
Alberta: In-person sessions require a minimum of four (4) students.
Saskatchewan: In-person sessions require a minimum of six (6) students.
